SEOUL ON SIXTH

"For the last decade, the fusion of Korean and Mexican cuisines has been all but defined by Roy Choi’s Kogi BBQ and a successive invasion of imitators, each with its own kalbi-based taco.

Jon Kim’s tacos are not those tacos." - LA TIMES

OUR STORY

Seoul On Sixth launched its first popup at the end of 2018, by a self-taught taquero, Jon Kim. Jon’s dream of spreading his love for LA street food and helping his dad’s business finally came to fruition on a brisk Saturday night outside of Mark’s Liquor, which has been owned on and off by his family for over the last 45+ years.

Respect culture, respect the taco.

Jon’s upbringing, which was heavily influenced by Latino culture, gave birth to his idea of introducing Korean and Asian flavors through a medium that was respectful and representative of both cultures. What started as a liquor store snack, has now become a 6th street staple.

Check out our crispy cheese tacos where it all started if you think you’re chingon!

Our team is comprised of family and close friends, and most of us have full time jobs. Thus we have been limited to weekends-only. During the pandemic we have taken a step back to ensure the safety of our team, but we look forward to our return soon! Hit us up on IG for more details.

LOCATION

Although we do pop-ups around Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, we still do our thing outside of our family's liquor store on 6th street. Check us out on IG for our schedule and more!
